Please contact us to arrange a date to suit you, if there is nothing on the calendar.
In this one-hour session we will give you an introduction to the basics of safe and confident powerboat handling.
You will be under the close supervision of a qualified instructor with the emphasis on fun and safety while you try your hand at slow and fast boat handling. We will stay mostly in New Quay bay, with a foray further out for higher speeds.
The price is per person who wishes to take a turn at the helm. We may also be able to take a passenger or two, depending on the boat and conditions. Passengers have to be aged 8 or over; to drive the boat you need to be at least 12.
We will use one of our Highfield RIBs, Triton or Gemini. Both are fast, comfortable and fully equipped with all the safety and nav gear you need. To read and see more, check out this article >>
We supply waterproof jackets and trousers but bring your own if you wish. Everyone on the boat will wear a life jacket. Please bring non-marking wetsuit boots/wellies/old trainers – you may get wet feet. You should wear warm clothes even on hot days, as it’s always cooler on the water.
Please get in touch to arrange a date and time, if you cannot see any courses on the calendar or wish to discuss it further.
Please note we do not hire out any powerboats; you must have an instructor with you.
