Paddleboard Hire

Booking for kayak and paddleboard hire is online only

We hire equipment by the hour for use in New Quay bay, including a buoyancy aid.

Minimum age 8; under 12s need to be accompanied by a responsible adult (18+) on the water during hire sessions.

Operating Area: You can use our equipment in the main bay only. The area extends from the main pier out to the north cardinal mark (big black buoy) and in to the reef at the end of Traeth Gwyn.
It is best to stay out of the way of the trip boats who pick up and drop off at the end of the main pier. We will advise you of any other hazards depending on the day.
Please avoid the swimming area (marked by yellow buoys). Lifeguards patrol the main beach during the holiday season.
Follow the Marine Code of Conduct: Do not paddle towards the dolphins if you are lucky enough to see them! Rest your paddle and just watch.
Dogs: if your dog is happy on the water, we are happy to let it kayak/paddle! We don’t have doggy buoyancy aids, but the SUP Shack in town sells them if you would like one. Dogs are not allowed on the main beach (May-Sept) but are fine north of the RNLI Lifeboat station (and on Sandy Slip where we are based).
Safety: We have a manned safety boat out whenever we have customers on the water, and an extra boat and person on standby. They are fully qualified first-aiders with a VHF radio certification and at least RYA Powerboat Level 2 and Safety & Rescue qualifications.
Wetsuit hire is £5 – you must wear a swimsuit/shorts underneath!
If you have forgotten a paddle, buoyancy aid or wetsuit, you can hire from us for £5 per hour plus a deposit of £35. (If you are doing a session with us there is no deposit to pay.)
