A Day to Remember

Hen and stag dos, birthdays, schools, sports clubs, kids’ parties, team-building – we can offer you a day to remember on the water in beautiful New Quay bay, West Wales. We have a wide range of activities for both beginners and watersports enthusiasts and are AALA certified. Please read this info and then contact us to set your day up.

New Quay is the ideal base for a group of people to enjoy a break together. There are plenty of eateries, accommodation, pubs and shops, as well as two beautiful beaches, wildlife and dolphin-spotting boat trips and of course – watersports!

We can take a max of 40 at any one time, age 8 and over only.

We offer a two-hour Splash Fun session for kids and big kids, which is kayaks and/or paddleboards, depending on the conditions, with games, races and learning some technique as well. Paddleboard rugby is a strong favourite!

Each activity will last about an hour and a half. Each activity has a student:teacher ratio of 6:1. Groups will need to work out who is doing what before you arrive. The decision of the instructors regarding equipment and activities is always final, and depends on the conditions on the day. A full day would be about 10am-4pm with a break to let you all go for lunch. (Plenty of choice nearby or a picnic on the beach.)

We can book in blocks of 6 as we have a 6:1 instructor/customer ratio, e.g. if you bring 20 we’d need three instructors so you’d pay for 24 places. Prices start from £25 per place (lessons will be more) including wetsuit hire; we cannot discount further as we are a charity organisation and already working to tight margins to get as many people out enjoying the water as possible.

Booking is in advance and we need details of each participant; it is possible to bring a list on the day. We need name and age, next of kin name and contact number, any medical issues. You can either pay a lump sum, or we can set up the booking so that each attendee can pay when they are ready. We do require payment in advance rather than deposits.

We reserve the right to refuse to allow people on the water who are or appear to be under the influence of drink or otherwise incapable. This is at the discretion of the Senior Instructor in charge on the day and would not result in a refund.

You agree to the Terms & Conditions when you book. If we have to cancel due to the weather we will try to rearrange or refund you, and will let you know as soon as possible. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, you will not be refunded.

Volunteers/teachers/parents do not have to go out with a younger group as the instructor is the adult. But if they wanted to accompany, we can let them on free of charge provided there is enough equipment. They might also be able to go in the safety boat to get some photos. We are dog friendly – if the dog is happy on the water, we’re happy for them to hop on!

We have boots, cagoules etc. to borrow as well, and hot showers etc. Everyone on the water wears a buoyancy aid. You can bring your own wetsuits or hire ours.

See our policies and risk assessments. We will always have a safety boat out on the water.

We always follow the Marine Code of Conduct to safeguard our wonderful marine life.

We have an Adventure Activity Licence (AALA) which means we are fully certified to run group activities.

We are a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Training Centre. All our instructors hold national governing body qualifications and undertake regular continuing professional development training. All staff are DBS checked, First Aid trained, and have undergone safeguarding training.
