Saturday Sailing (Adults and Juniors)
Learn and have fun with the Experts
Our ever-popular Saturday Sailing are two-hour instructed sessions for those with some experience – RYA Level 1/Stage 1 or equivalent experience – and upwards. You can work towards a certificate, or just come for the fun. All our instructors are highly-qualified and very enthusiastic about sailing.
We will use different boats from our fleet, from single-handed, stable Picos to larger Bahias. There will be some on-land theory but most of the time will be spent with the boats – rigging (and de-rigging and putting away!), launching, recovering, capsize drills, tacking and gybing, coming alongside and loads more. The lesson plan will depend on the day and the instructors, so expect to be flexible.
Expect to get very wet, a bit cold, help each other out and laugh a lot.
We maintain a personal record of what you have done with us so we can help you towards your next level. We try to split everybody into the group appropriate to their skill to get the maximum benefit from the time on or off the water.
Arrive by 09:45 at least ready for a 10am start.
Sessions run weekly and you can book a block or just one at a time.
We have wetsuits you can hire for £5. You’ll also need to bring lunch or buy it nearby. Bring a towel and swimsuit, and wetsuit boots/old trainers. We provide buoyancy aids.
If we have to cancel because the conditions are inappropriate we will either reimburse you or you can re-book. Cancellation Policy.
