Paddleboard Tours

The tours are not for beginners – you need some experience paddling. Depending on conditions we will paddle (at the speed of the slowest) along the coast from Penpolion pier (the small pier in New Quay) south past the main pier, the fish factory and Carreg Walltog aka Target Rock, to the caves and cliffs near Birds Rock.

Your guide will begin with a briefing on land to introduce themselves and let you know what to expect. There will also be advice on technique and safety, so that during the tour we can concentrate on giving lots of commentary on the local area. Our guides are locals with loads of knowledge of the area. Your guide will choose where to paddle depending on the conditions on the day and the confidence of the paddlers.

We always follow the Marine Code of Conduct and stay at least 100m away from the cliffs to respect the seabirds and other wildlife – this is where they breed and live! The minimum age is 8; we will run tours a little differently if there are younger customers, as they will not be able to paddle as far. If you want to bring along a youngster 8-12, get in touch and we can arrange something suitable.

We need at least two paddlers to run a tour.

Equipment

You will be using one of our Red Paddle boards; these are nice and stable. We have wetsuits you can hire. We can provide spraytops (cagouls which will keep the wind and splashes off) and everyone must wear a buoyancy aid.
