Wingsurfing Policy

Instruction

Customers on courses or taster sessions will be supervised by an RYA qualified instructor. The instructor may have students taking part in different wingsurfing activities if the conditions and student skills are suitable. The instructor should check the equipment in use at the start and end of the session reporting any defects. The instructor should adhere to RYA best practice policies.

Teaching ratio Wingsurf 4:1.

Wings to be secured to sand-filled trug, bucket or similar.

Instructor will have access to own safety boat.The instructor should adhere to RYA best practice policies.

The decision to sail or not will be at the discretion of the person in charge.

Wing-surfer recovery

  • Recover customer to boat
  • Customer faces boat driver and holds the wing upside down or deflate wing.
  • Board stowed across the boat
  • Return to shore / upwind
