On 21 September those staff who hadn’t gone back to university/other jobs gathered for a BBQ and some games on the water. The girls absolutely smashed the boys in the SUP rugby. We all failed totally at the rafting and nose-running challenges.
The weather was dodgy, so the BBQ moved from Pen Polion up to the Centre, where Rob and Jane provided expert equipment and skills.
The boss’s birthday was 25 September, so we clubbed together to get him a bottle of Penderyn whisky (he’s Scottish, but Welsh whisky is okay!). He’s hoping to retire (semi-retire?) this year, after 13 years of guiding the Centre as the manager and Chief Instructor. Yacht Rafiki will be his next big project, and some time in Australia with family is planned too.
