Smoking and Vaping policy

The Smoke Free Premises etc. (Wales) Regulations 2007 came into force on 2nd April 2007. There are very few exemptions to the smoking ban and anyone who breaches the law could face heavy penalties.

The regulations prohibits smoking in “enclosed” and “substantially enclosed”

premises.

Staff or volunteers wanting to smoke or vape are requested to do so not in full view of members of the public.

Smokers must consider the needs of non-smokers who do not wish to breathe tobacco smoke or vape.

Staff or volunteers are often role models for students so are requested to be discreet when smoking or vaping.

The policy extends to the compound, on boats or other watercraft.

E-cigarettes are not regulated like tobacco products and there is currently no bespoke regulatory system for e-cigarettes in the UK, but they are captured by general product safety regulatory requirements.

CBW will treat e-cigarettes in the same way as a cigarette or other tobacco product.
