The Watersports Centre in New Quay opened in 2003 as a community development project of Menter Cei Newydd. Original funding for the project came from EU Objective 1 and Sport Lot.
In March 2007, the project was transferred to Cardigan Bay Watersports, a Company Limited by Guarantee and a Registered Charity. Development of the Centre continues to be supported by a range of public and private organisations.
