Sail Cruising Following our recent recognition by the RYA we are now offering cruising courses to suit all abilities.
The courses will be run aboard CELINE a "Moody 33" based at Aberystwyth marina. These vessels have a reputation for strength, seaworthiness and comfort. As well as being equipped with modern electronics such as GPS, Navtex and autopilot, she is fully certified and coded by the MCA. (Maritime and coastguard agency).
Our location in Aberystwyth gives us a variety of picturesque destinations to explore during your time with us. To the north lies the Lleyn peninsular and Snowdonia national park. South takes you through the Cardigan Bay heritage coastline and to the west is Ireland.
Start Yachting This is a 2 day course that provides a short introduction to sail cruising for novices. By the end of the course you will have experienced steering a yacht, sail handling, ropework and be aware of safety on board.
Competent Crew This course is for beginners and those who would like to become active crew members rather than just passengers. By the end of the five days you should be able to steer, handle sails, keep a lookout, row a dinghy and assist in all the day-to-day routines. Day skipper
This five-day course gives you the chance to take charge on short passages under instruction. You will concentrate on pilotage, boat handling, seamanship and navigation. Coastal skipper This is a five-day advanced skippering course for those who have knowledge of sailing and navigation, wanting to undertake coastal passages by day and night.
