Powerboating is an exhilarating, fun and often fast activity. In recent years the number of people involved in the sport has multiplied. Drivers of high-speed powerboats have a great responsibility towards other water users and it has never been more important to acquire the skills to make the sport safer and enjoyable for all.
The RYA Powerboat Scheme has been developed to advise you of that responsibility at the same time as training you to handle your boat in a seaman-like manner, so that you and your passengers can all enjoy being afloat. The scheme meets the needs of those who use small, open powerboats for a variety of sporting uses.

To participate in this course you must already hold the National Powerboat Certificate. The course is a mixture of sessions afloat and ashore covering techniques in recovering and towing capsized dinghies, windsurfers and disabled powerboats, and in communications and rescuing other water users. Designed for those who will participate in race management and providing safety cover for clubs and teaching establishments.
You have done the basic courses and bought your own boat, but you need a guiding hand until you are confident with your new acquisition. Hire one of our instructors by the hour or by the day to provide that support and guidance.
