Some of what you will learn:

  • Launch and recovery
  • High and low speed manoeuvres
  • Man overboard recovery methods
  • Other seamanship skills
  • Understanding and use of charts
  • Understanding of tides and currents
  • Weather interpretation
  • Securing to a buoy
  • Anchoring
  • Leaving and coming alongside
  • See more info at https://www.rya.org.uk/

On successful completion of the course you can apply for the International
Certificate of Competence (ICC) available through the RYA (Royal Yachting
Association), which is a requirement of many countries even if only
visiting for a holiday.

Bring a passport-sized photograph of you for your certificate.

You will receive the official RYA ‘Start Powerboating’ handbook.

Every student is kitted out with waterproof trousers, jacket and a
lifejacket. You will need warm clothing (even in good weather) and
non-marking wet shoes/old trainers/wellies.
